MLGA Charity Golf Day - 21st Nov 2010

MARBELLA LADIES AND CHARITY GOLF OPEN DAY.

We all got together to play golf and even the sun smiled on this magnificent day at Rio Real.  The reason was the Annual Golf and Gala Dinner organised by the Marbella Ladies Golfing Association (MLGA).  Two donation cheques, one for Ciudad de Los Niños to the value of €1,000 and the other for €2,964 (actual amount given €3,156.00) in aid of CUDECA were presented. Mr. Jose Luis Hernandez Consejal de Turismo to Marbella received the donation on behalf of Ciudad de Los Niños; Laura Haggis Sottas the representative of CUDECA accepted their donation.  A total of €4,171, was raised.

Many sponsors attended the celebration at the Club House after the Golf event on Sunday 21 November.  Prizes were given for the best results of the Pairs, as well as individual lady and man’s nearest to the pin and longest drive; the raffle prizes were fantastic and many local businesses like the Cervantes Restaurant in Plaza de Los Naranjos in Marbella donated dinners for two, our dear friend Mugge Fischer donated a painting which was auctioned and went for a substantial amount; the donation from Costa Consulting Spain (CCG) also achieved a high monetary value.  Urban Health clinic donated back massage vouchers to be raffled; one can imagine that after a long round of golf a back massage could be very welcomed; Naiara Castillejo of Festibodas gave a tone of elegance to the event when she delighted every one playing the violin.  There were many more raffle prizes.

The MLGA would like to thank all sponsors, kind donations from many local businesses and to the army of helpers without whom this event could not have taken place.
